The Disrespect Toward International NBA Stars Has Gone Too Far

Rob Parker: “I do believe that current players in the NBA and former players feel like they can rip on the European players because they’re not going to push back, they’re not going to be confrontational. They would not do this to other black American players in the league, that’s just my gut feeling... I do think that theirs a wave of anti-foreign players that’s going on because they are winning the awards and they are playing at a high level.”
Chris Broussard: “Let’s just face it guys, right now the best players in the world are not from America. If you want to go 25 deep, 50 deep, 100 deep then we (Americans) have the majority of the better players. They better not think these International dudes aren’t as tough because they are just soft spoken, in a different country and they might not want to come here and act a fool because they’re not in their home country but don’t think that some of these dudes can’t knock you out just like an American can knock you out. Secondly, and I think the more important point Rob, is that there’s probably some jealousy because they are taking over and we have felt like this is our game... black Americans and now you see the best player in the world is a slow white dude that can’t jump.”

Chris Broussard and Rob Parker of The Odd Couple explain why they believe current and former American NBA players are disrespecting International stars. Listen to the full segment below!
